Notches or Weirs allow hydrologists and engineers a simple method of measuring the volumetric flow rate in small to medium-sized streams, or in industrial discharge locations.The apparatus is used to calibrate the following types of notches/weirs:-1. Rectangular Notch2. Triangular Notch3. Trapezoidal Notch or Cipolletti Weir4. Sharp Crested Weir5. Broad Crested Weir6. Ogee Weir Spillway
A flow control valve permits the variation of the flow rate through the circuit. Open flow channelwith necessary baffle ensures smooth flow of water. Channel has the arrangement to replace different types of notches/weir through a simple bolting arrangement
